What is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial yoga (yoga in hammocks) became known throughout the world relatively recently - it began in the USA, then it captured Europe, and since then, new countries have gradually continued to develop it. Anti-gravity yoga in the form in which we can see it now was invented by the American dancer and gymnast Christopher Harrison. Christopher performed incredibly beautiful acrobatic performances in the air, which, by the way, are still very popular in all circus programs. But Christopher paid special attention to his unique acrobatic performance in a special anti-gravity hammock, made of dense thin nylon fabric (parachute fabric) and fixed to the ceiling. Christopher noticed that light relaxing activities in such a hammock quickly relax and restore the body, so he decided to try using this hammock not for acrobatic purposes, but during yoga classes. According to the author, performing ordinary classic yoga poses in a hammock gives completely new sensations and results.
Workout
The workouts are intended for all people, regardless of age. Yoga in hammocks allows you to develop flexibility even for those people who are desperate in trying to master difficult poses. Complex classical poses can indeed be accessible to ordinary people only after several years of regular training. Aerial Yoga allows you to master these poses much easier and earlier. A hammock forces you to balance, i.e., thereby forcing internal postural muscles to work, which we do not touch in normal life. Yoga in hammocks can be used simply to relax and develop flexibility, or it can be used as a practice for mastering very complex poses. Aerial Yoga is well suited for people’s rehabilitation after illnesses and injuries. Moreover, aerial yoga will be useful for people with disabilities, especially those with cerebral palsy. You can practice yoga in hammocks every day.
